Manchester based trio YAANG are one of the most exciting bands currently making waves. Their sound resists easy categorisation, being a unique amalgam of punk, motorik, art rock and dance beats.
Last year’s vinyl debut, the 4 track 10” EP ‘No’, on the Cracked Ankles label, showcased the breadth of the band’s stylistic approaches. It also sold out very swiftly, and won serious acclaim.
“A unique brand of futuristic apocalyptic sound… part Prodigy part Killing Joke… Barking mad magic.” – Louder Than War
“Yaang burn very brightly indeed.” – Totally Radio
“Showing off actual songwriting chops and smart dynamics…Exhilarating.” – Echoes & Dust
Recent live shows, including support slots with Death From Above 1979, have cemented their reputation as one of the most thrilling live groups in the UK, their breakneck energy winning over an abundance of new fans.
This exclusive new single, with Heaven’s Lathe, captures a different side to YAANG. Originally intended as a one-off performance at Manchester’s Psych Fest, ‘Z.F.A.L.’ is an exceptionally ferocious and fiery, semi-improvised piece, displaying the band’s more experimental side. This new recording was performed live off the floor, at Liverpool’s most iconic recording studio: The Motor Museum.
“Blurring the lines between the seductive thump of the dance floor and the sweat-soaked mayhem of the mosh pit, Yaang growl with an addictively hard-line, after hours abandon.” – DIY Magazine
