ODDFELLOW’S CASINO
- HL36
- Release date | 05/12/2025
Oddfellow’s Casino fashion an ambitious and articulate chamber pop, encompassing electric, acoustic and electronic instrumentation, alongside brass, woodwind, piano and harmonium.
Since 2002’s ‘Yellowbellied Wonderland’, David Bramwell has been helming the group through a series of intimate, thoughtful and often moving albums, bound together by subtle arrangements and Bramwell’s affecting vocals. Theirs is a music thick with bruised romance and haunted by folkloric colour.
“Oddfellow’s Casino deals in tuneful, anglocentric and experimental electro-acoustic pop that joins the dots between Pentangle and The Pet Shop Boys, Basil Kirchin and British Sea Power.” – The Quietus
“Oddfellow’s Casino never sound less than handsome…lyrics and music are never more perfectly matched.” – Drowned In Sound
“Haunting and melodically beautiful… Mesmerising.” – Sunday Times
“Vast chalk hills of sound.” – Stewart LeeHeaven’s Lathe are excited to be releasing new music by one of Britain’s most assured exponents of the contemporary song form: a sound that honours the past even as it embraces the future.
