Drummer, vocalist and composer Charles Hayward was a founder member of the influential post punk groups This Heat, and Camberwell Now. He’s also collaborated on recordings and performances with a wide range of artists and ensembles, including Phil Manzanera’s Quiet Sun, Keiji Haino, Lol Coxhill and Thurston Moore.

Hayward continues to push boundaries and discover fresh hybrids. Including the piano based solo album ‘Begin Anywhere’, and the sonic collage compendium’ Crossfade Estate’. Meanwhile, his five-piece group Abstract Concrete experiment with form and groove to dazzling effect.

2025, saw Hayward undertaking live performances of his mind-bending ’30 Minute Snare Drum Roll’, as well as releasing ‘HaywardxDälek’: a collaborative album with the US rapper Will Brooks (aka MC Dälek), which received unanimous praise.
